Bobby Shotwell’s path to fire investigation was launched in 2024 when he began an internship with Jack Ward Fire Consultants while in high school, exploring a potential career in forensic investigation. As a component of this internship, Bobby was tasked with assisting investigators in the processing of fire scenes and the collection of evidence from loss sites, as well as helping in the daily operations of our Orange Park evidence storage facility. In 2025, after graduating from high school, Bobby began full time employment with our company as a technician where he continues to gain knowledge and experience, having participated in the investigation of over 100 fire and explosion scenes alongside seasoned investigators.

Bobby is currently attending Eastern Kentucky University, perusing a bachelor’s degree in Fire, Arson, and Explosion Investigation. As he gains knowledge, education, and experience he aspires to join the ranks at Jack Ward Fire Consultants, where he would then be a 3rd generation fire investigator, following in the footsteps of both his grandfather and his father, Robbie Shotwell, who is currently a Florida-based investigator with our team.
