In 1989, Brad Stapp began, as a volunteer firefighter, what would become a thirty-six-year career in the fire service where he would find his passion for fire prevention and fire investigation. In 1991 Brad became a professional firefighter with the Newton County, Georgia Fire Department where he operated emergency vehicles, responded to fire and rescue incidents and became known as an experienced fire service leader. In 2007, he was promoted to Lieutenant and transferred to fire prevention where he would conduct fire and life safety inspections as well as fire and explosion investigations within the county, investigating many fire and arson incidents. In 2012, Brad was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief where he supervised the fire investigation and fire prevention bureaus until his retirement in 2024.

Brad’s long public sector career provided him with the education and experience needed to become a part of the Jack Ward Fire Consultants team. He is a member of many professional associations such as the Georgia Public Safety Fire Investigators Association, the Georgia Fire Investigators Association and the International Association of Arson investigators where he holds the designation as a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI).

Brad has been accepted by the courts as an expert in fire origin and cause and continues to conduct fire investigations throughout the United States.
