Ford Motor Co. is recalling 2013 Ford Escapes that are equipped with 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines due to fuel-line issue which could ultimately cause an engine fire. Ford Motor Co. has reported three fires total due to fuel-line issue; two fires occurred at the factory and one while a customer was driving the 2013 Ford Escape, though no one was injured. The recall affects 11,500 Escapes in the United States and Canada, though only 4,800 has been sold. Ford Motor Co. has warned owners of the recalled vehicle not to drive the vehicle, and to call their local dealer. The dealer will pick up the 2013 Escape and drop off a loaner car until the repairs are complete.
