As the year comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude to all of our clients for their continued support. We are thrilled with the growth and accomplishments that our team has achieved in 2023, and we recognize that we could not have done it without you!

With that being said, we are proud to share some of our highlights from 2023:

Matterport

Earlier this year, our entire team of fire investigators were equipped with the latest 3-D camera technology available, the Matterport Pro-3. This platform utilizes 4k HD 360-degree photography paired with Lidar Laser scanning to give you the best possible view of any property that has suffered a fire or an explosion. This 3-D scan is conducted at every fire loss that we investigate! With this technology, we can take your claims handling to the next level, making the process faster and more efficient.

All our Investigators are CFI’s

We proudly announced last month that all our Fire Investigators have obtained their Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) Certificate. This certification is a testament to the high level of expertise and professionalism that our team possesses. It ensures that our fire investigators have the necessary knowledge and skills to thoroughly investigate any fire-related incident. We believe that having all our fire investigators equipped with this certification sets us apart from others in our industry and gives our clients peace of mind knowing that they will receive the highest level of service and professionalism.

Josh Plummer Promoted to Field Operations Manager

Josh began his career with Jack Ward Fire Consultants in 2008 when he began an internship working as an evidence/field technician. During this time, Josh gained knowledge and experience as he worked fire and explosion scenes alongside seasoned investigators daily. In 2011, after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science Engineering, he acquired his designation as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, a Certified Fire Investigation Technician, a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator, and an Evidence Collection Technician. After 16 years of growing with the company and gaining knowledge investigating fire losses, Josh was promoted to Field Operations Manager. In this position, Josh will continue to conduct origin and cause fire investigations but will also be tasked with managing our fire investigation team and day-to-day field operations under our CEO, David Cheers.

Because of our incredible clients, we were also able to hire two new investigators this year:

Jon Lodge began his career in 2006 as a police officer in Colorado for the City of Brighton Police Department. In 2014, he continued his public safety career as a firefighter with the South Adams County Fire Department (SACFD) in Commerce City, Colorado. By the next year, he moved up the ranks to Fire Prevention Officer with SACFD. In 2019, Jon’s passion for fire investigation took him to the City of Casa Grande Fire Department in Arizona. While in Arizona, Jon had the unique opportunity to also work for the Gila River Fire Department as a Senior Fire Investigator and Inspector, protecting the Gila River Indian Community. Throughout Jon’s fire career, he has been responsible for origin and cause investigations, where he assisted federal, state, and local law enforcement in criminal arson investigations. After nearly a decade of success and experience in the fire investigation industry, Jon has investigated over 500 fires and has earned several certifications.

Robbie Shotwell began his career in public safety with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) as a Police Officer. Robbie’s career in law enforcement advanced as he moved to the Columbia County Florida Sherriff’s Office in Lake City, where he moved through the ranks and was eventually promoted to Detective. His time as a Detective gave him the skills needed to return to FDLE as a Special Agent and collaterally worked hard to earn his master’s degree in criminal justice from the American Military University. Robbie started his career in fire investigation and the private sector in 2015 when he was hired as an origin and cause investigator. Robbie also served in the United States Coast Guard and United States Navy.

As this year comes to an end and a new one begins, we look forward to new opportunities for company growth to better serve our clients. We look forward to seeing both clients and industry leaders at events throughout the new year!

As always, thank you for your continued support and trust in Jack Ward Fire Consultants for your fire investigations, fire code consultations, and catastrophic loss management! We’re looking forward to working with you in the new year!
