Hot Honey Baked Brie
Recipe from our Administrative Assistant, Cindy.
Ingredients:
-1 Round of brie cheese
-4 Tablespoons hot honey
-1/2 Cup roasted pecans
-1 Teaspoon of fresh rosemary
-Crackers/apples/crostinis to serve
Directions:
1. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Cut lines into the top of the brie to create a pattern of little squares – this makes it easier to eat. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of the hot honey over the brie and push it into the cuts.
3. Put the baked brie on a piece of parchment paper on a baking pan and bake the brie for 12 minutes, or until it is hot and melted.
4. Transfer the baked brie to a serving plate using the parchment paper. Top with pecans, drizzle with the remaining hot honey, and sprinkle the rosemary on top. Serve with crackers, crostini, or apple slices.
Hot Honey Stir Fry

Ingredients:
-2 Tablespoons olive oil (divided)
-2 Cups broccoli
-1-Pound boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into 1-inch pieces)
-4 Cloves garlic (minced)
-¼ Cup low sodium soy sauce
-¼ Cup water
-¼ Cup hot honey
-1 Teaspoon sesame oil
-2 Teaspoons cornstarch
-Sesame seeds
Directions:
1. Sauté the broccoli: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet. Add in the broccoli and sauté until tender and caramelized, 4-5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
2. Cook the chicken: Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same pan. Make sure your pan is large enough to ensure the chicken gets crispy and caramelized on the outside. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
3. Make the sauce: Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine soy sauce, water, honey and sesame oil. Add the sauce to the pan along with the broccoli.
4. Add the sauce to the pan along with the broccoli. In a small bowl mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of cold water. Slowly whisk in the cornstarch mixture into the sauce. Simmer until the sauce has thickened, 1-2 minutes.
5. Season with salt and pepper and serve immediately with sesame seeds for garnish, if desired.
Hot Honey BBQ Sauce

Ingredients:
-1 1/2 Cups ketchup
-2/3 Cup hot honey
-1/2 Cup apple cider vinegar
-1/4 Cup light brown sugar
-2 Tablespoons molasses
-2 Tablespoons smoked paprika
-1 Tablespoon black pepper
-1 Tablespoon garlic powder
-1 Tablespoon onion powder
-1 Teaspoon celery salt
-1 Teaspoon coriander
-1 Teaspoon cayenne
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together in small saucepan: 1 ½ cups ketchup, ⅔ cup hot honey, ½ cup apple cider vinegar, ¼ cup light brown sugar, 2 tablespoons molasses, 2 tablespoons smoked paprika,1 tablespoon black pepper, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon celery salt,1 teaspoon coriander, 1 teaspoon cayenne.
2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 25 minutes stirring occasionally. Cool to room temperature. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
Hot Honey Corn Bread
Recipe from our Kentucky- based Fire Investigator, Wes.
Ingredients:
–1/2 Cup butter, melted and cooled slightly
-1 & 1/4 Cup yellow cornmeal
-3/4 Cup AP flour
-1/2 Tbsp sugar
-1 & 1/2 Tsp baking powder
-1/2 Tsp baking soda
-1/2 Tsp salt
-1 & 1/2 Cup buttermilk (or milk or combination)
-2 Tbsp hot honey
-2 Eggs
-1 Cup frozen corn kernels (optional)
-1/4 Cup diced jalapenos (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400F, heat butter in a cast iron skillet in the oven. Remove butter from skillet and set aside, put the cast iron back in the oven.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add buttermilk, hot honey, and eggs. Add corn kernels and jalapenos if desired.
3. Mix together until just combined. Add the slightly cooled melted butter and frozen corn, mix again until just combined.
4. Remove preheated cast iron from the oven and add the batter.
5. Bake until the cornbread begins to brown on top and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (about 20-23 minutes). Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing, drizzling with more hot honey.
Hot Honey Flat Bread

Ingredients:
-1 naan flatbread
-1 Tbsp Olive Oil
-3 Tbsp pizza sauce
-1/2 Cup of shredded mozzarella
-10 slices of pepperoni
-1 Tbsp hot honey
– Any additional desired toppings
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F. Spread olive oil over the naan, and place in oven for 10 minutes or until toasted.
2. Take out the naan once toasted and add the pesto spreading evenly.
3. Spread pizza sauce over the pesto.
4. Sprinkle mozzarella and pepperoni. Add any additional toppings.
5. Place flatbread in oven and bake for 7 minutes or until cheese is melted. Top with hot honey, slice, and serve.
Hot Honey Plank Salmon
Recipe from our Florida-based Fire Investigator, Robbie.
Ingredients:
-1 lb. wild caught, skin on salmon
-1 Inch fresh ginger, grated
-1 Clove garlic, grated
-Black pepper
-1/4 Cup soy sauce
-2 Tablespoons hot honey
-Ground pepper
-1 Lemon wedge
Directions:
1. Soak the cedar plank in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling. Heat grill to medium heat.
2. Lay the whole salmon, skin side facing down, on top of the cedar plank. Rub the flesh of the salmon with ginger, garlic, and black pepper.
3. Place on the grill and cover. Grill for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked to your liking.
4. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the soy sauce and hot honey. During the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the soy/hot honey mix over the salmon.
5. Squeeze the lemon wedge over the salmon and serve.
