After distinguished service in the United States Coast Guard and United States Navy, Robbie Shotwell began his public safety career with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) as a Police Officer. Robbie’s career in law enforcement advanced as he moved to The Columbia County Florida Sherriff’s Office in Lake City, where he moved through the ranks and eventually promoted to Detective. His time as a Detective gave him the skills needed to return to FDLE as a Special Agent and collaterally worked hard to earn his master’s degree in criminal justice from the American Military University. Robbie started his career in fire investigation and the private sector in 2015 when he was hired as an origin and cause investigator. His passion for investigative work and forensics led to opening his own consulting business in 2019, and eventually to a position as a Fire Consultant with the Jack Ward Fire Consultants team in July of 2023. Robbie brings to Jack Ward Fire Consultants over 20 years of investigative training, education and experience in the field of fire and explosion origin and cause investigation. He has worked fire investigations involving vessels, residential, commercial, and industrial structures, as well as those in electrical and mechanical systems. Robbie is a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) through the International Association of Arson Investigations (IAAI), holds an FAA remote pilots license, and is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) through The National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI).
