Joseph DiFranco began his 35+ year career in fire investigation in 1985 as a full-time firefighter for the City of Peabody, Massachusetts. In 2003, he was promoted to Senior Fire Investigator and Fire Prevention Officer where he was responsible for fire education and fire code enforcement, along with origin and cause investigations of all fires and explosions. His courtroom testimony spanned Juvenile, District, State, and Federal Courts and was critical in multiple high-profile cases. During his 29 years in the public sector in Massachusetts, Joseph served as president of a variety of industry associations including the Fire Prevention Association of Massachusetts, the Fire Prevention Division of the Essex County Fire Chiefs Association, and the Metro Fire/Arson Investigators Association.

In 2014, Joseph moved to the private sector where he has investigated and managed resources for fire and explosion incidents. His knowledge of both the public and private sectors made him a great addition to the JWFC team in 2021. Joseph is a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) through the International Association of Arson Investigators, a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI) through the National Association of Fire Investigators, and is court qualified as an expert in the field of fire origin and cause investigation.
