In 1977, Kenneth Walsh made a decision to join the Chatham Boro Volunteer Fire Department in Chatham, New Jersey, a decision that would lead to a long standing career in the field of fire investigation. Kenneth quickly moved through the ranks in the department, giving him the training and experience needed to become employed with the Summit Fire Department in Union County, New Jersey. As the department’s Fire Marshal, he was actively involved in fire suppression, inspections, and code enforcement. Kenneth became the coordinator for the Union County Arson Task Force until leaving the public sector of fire investigations in 2001. Since that time, he has continued as a fire investigator in both the public and private sectors where he has investigated over 500 fires and testified in local and state courts as an expert in the field of fire origin and cause as well as an expert in the field of fire protection codes and systems. In 2012, Kenneth retired as the Bureau Chief of the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office where he was instrumental in the drafting of public safety legislation regarding fire and building codes as well as the training and education of building and fire safety officials. Due to his extensive experience in the discipline of fire and life safety codes, Kenneth adds not only his fire investigation experience but also his fire code expertise to our team.
